What is this for?

I don’t think that it’s for a reflection of light because it’s already got a flash. I also think that it’s for taking self pictures.

I’ve always heard and assumed it was a mirror.

but i dont get why it would be a mirror.. its right under the flash.. maybe it helps reflect light more?.. i cant seems to find anywhere that explains what its use is..

it’s a mirror. It’ll say so in your manual I’m sure

Thats why its curved like the back of a spoon, you get a much wider viewing angle to take a self portrait

Well it sure helps when you’re taking pictures of yourself.
