I can’t dance yet until California is in the bag. Once it is, the champagne will be flowing like the morning fog.
@critter
VOT?~! ha. it’s okay. did you vote for mclame?! haha i mean john mccain? and caribou barbie~!
@berocky1: Yes I pulled the nonsocialist lever. :)
oh
?! well i live in idaho. and i can feel the presidency of a great person named barack.
and guess what my name is brock!! it’s sweet. everyone calls me obama. and i love it.!
@ critter. haha. dont’ get me started on the audio cutting of those wonderful conservatives!
I want to be ecstatic…but I won’t let myself be until it’s all said and done. Then? Dance my ass off!
whatever the outcome will be I wish him the best because this is our country he will lead and influence other.
oh august.! why not start celebrating! hhah lolie
I am more excited for USA :)
Never count your chickens ‘till they’re hatched!
I’m not excited yet, I’m going to my friend’s house to drink beer and watch CNN.
But, I’m kinda excited.
VA is only red by 11,000 votes from what I’ve been reading. C’mon!
once u get a couple more key states i will be dancing. party!!
oh jeez guys! where is your sense of spirit!?! have you seen chicago and ohio?!
@berocky1: Simply meant as a joke. :). I just pray that whoever our next President is that he will do a good job, and improve our fallen economy. If the winner happens to be show em my O face Obama I always have 2012.
i know! and if mccain does win. i will hope the best for us in america. but if obama wins?? what will i do…....................... PARTAY!
I’m waiting for McCain’s concession speech, then I’ll pop the champagne.
But it looks good from here…
I KN0W! I ALREADY POPPED THE CHAMPIE!
It was done at 6:30 when Obama hit 194 and West Coast polls are still open. The only way he could lose is if CA, OR, and WA dropped into the Pacific before 8 o’clock. They along with Hawaii=77+194=271-the WINNER! Just now add NM.
He won Ohio. Game over :D
OKAY YALL! I AM SO ECSTATIC! CAN WE PLEASE HAVE A FLUTHER PARTY?!!
?
PLEASE?
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
i’m fearful for the future of our nation
oh waterskier.
COOL IT. AND DRINK SOME CHAMPAGNE. JOIN THE FLUTHER PARTY
I won’t celebrate yet, but I am waiting…
It looks as tho Obama will get win, but I don’t think he is going to find the job easy. There are so many messes to clean up. Where and how does he start? (Particularly since Bush and cronies are determined to continue to do harm….the environment, the FDA regulations, etc.)
Can you imagine walking into the Whitehouse on Jan. 20 and doing…what?
I think it is FINALLY a huge step forward for America that we can elect an African-American to the presidency. He appears to be the best candidate, he’s well spoken, intelligent, and I am very excited for him. I wish him the best of luck.
Enjoy this momentous occasion…tomorrow you can fear, worry, doubt. Tonight celebrate.
@gail. I hope he surrounds himself with a very intelligent and responsible cabinet that will help and guide him through all the messes he’s going to face, like you said.
It’s going to be an uphill battle and seriously uncertain in a lot of ways but for right now, I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt until he starts giving me a reason to think otherwise.
LAH-DEE-DAH. GOBAMA. YEEEEE. don’t you worry america. we will be fine!
I am fearful for our country. In four years after he manages to make things worse and leave a bad taste in the mouth of many we will at least get a leader who will bring real CHANGE.
How in the world can you determine, right now, that he will make things worse in the next 4 years? And who’s mouths, specifically, is he leaving a bad taste in? We haven’t even gotten past election night yet.
i agree with blue.
gooch. don’t be down on the party’s vibe
woo hoo! I danced and cried!
i must agree. his speech did make me cry!
VERY excited.
(Also exhausted.)
I was also very moved by Mccain’s gracious and elegant concession speech. He touched on his own values, which he seemed to have put in storage while on the campaign trail. He cut off any nasty booing or chanting from the (rather small) crowd who came to hear him, he pledged to honor his new president and he said little (in a nice) way about Palin.
I am excited for all of us!
I’m so excited. I wish Tupac was still alive so he could see this. Makes me think of his song “Changes”:
“it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain’t ready, to see a black President”...
I wish his grandmother was still alive to see this.
me too. She was there in spirit….
The haight!!! Where have you been???
I’ve been away for a
While but I’m here! I wish I had more time for Fluther.
:D
Great to see yo back, The Haight!
Edit – I meant you not “yo”!
And now I really can’t wait for 1/20/09 bushs LAST day and obamas FIRST!
thanks berocky and janbb. So nice. :)
