Does the sport elec work?

Asked by Mtl_zack (6781points) November 5th, 2008

i saw an infomercial for a belt that you wear and it tenses up and relaxes your muscles. basically, its excercising without the effort. is there any evidence that this thing works? even if it does work, i might not get it because it makes people think “i dont need to exercise, ill just eat mccrap and a belt will fix me”.

there also used to be a type of vibrating belt that was ‘invented’ in the early 20th century that was supposed to shapen up men’s stomach’s and help them lose fat. but this invention never actually worked or was proven to work. it is the same idea and basically the same design as the sportelec belt. it will not work. oldschool exercise and crunches and good eating are the only ways to get good abs. there will always be people trying to get you to believe you can be lazy and do nothing but wear a belt and have amazing abs.. yeah right
