When was the last time you’ve been in "The Zone", not exactly euphoric but beautiful?

The night of and the day following Obama’s election was a time of pure euphoria for me. Prior to that, it is almost always when I’m driving through the mountains. The sun slanting over them, clouds creating shadows on the ground…it always fills me with joy!
This is a little weird.
As some of you know, my husband died in May, and since then
I’ve sometimes had a strange but lucky-feeling experience when I’m talking with him – a cool tingly rush up and down the front of my body from the knees to the shoulders. It’s only happened about seven times. I’ve never had this sensation before in my life.
And the Obama win.
And you, Gambit? Why do you ask?
@susanc, I am reading a wonderful book called Golf for Enlightment and I remember how when I shot archery as a kid at times I would be so focused that my surroundings went away and it was just me and the target.
Thank you for asking.
Oh yes: the bliss of full engagement.
I used to be a therapist. Can you imagine anything more absorbing?
People come to your room, tell you extraordinary stories,
give you money, and leave again.
Could archery touch that? Tell me. (I’m waiting for a great story.)
@susanc – A good archer is suppose to become one with the bow. He is not really concerned with hitting the target. He is only suppose to let the arrow land where it is supposed to so if you miss it is because you weren’t ready for the arrow to do what it is made to do.
I have heard that there are some Zen Masters who were great archers because they shot with their minds eye and had complete concentration.
The book I am reading about golf is saying the same thing you visualize the hole and it becomes as big as a bath tub. You make the putt before you even hit the ball.

Hey Gambit, I never noticed that you said this to me. I’ll look into that book. It sounds a lot like Zen and the Art of Archery, right? Thanks for the referral.
Hi susanc, hope all is well. Take care.
Oh I’m okay, thanks a lot. You too, take care. And keep focussing. I need to learn this too.
