Transmission, until utorrent comes out for macs.
Been using Transmission for a long time now. It’s simple to use and doesn’t hog system resources.

Personally, I use xTorrent:
http://www.xtorrent.com/

I love the built-in search and it’s a really nicely designed program.

Frostwire is pretty good. And free.

Have you ever had a bittorrent app slow your computer at all? I have a mac as well and I was wondering about downloading an app, but I didn’t want to completely wreck my computer.

tomato torrent is good for being simple and it has a very small footprint on a computer. It has every download in it’s own window, so it can be a bit onerous if you have a bunch of things going at once. Vuze is great, as well, and especially so if there are some torrents where you only want to download parts (e.g. if you want one song from somebody’s collection, you can set it to only download that song). I use them both, depending on my needs, and find them to be complimentary. Tomato torrent is best for overall reliability and simplicity.

Transmission; lightweight powerful, easy to use, good looking, cocoa.

Even better with nightly builds.

Transmission is the best one. No matter what people says, this is the one that was made for the mac, and mac only.
yeah, i know it’s a linux app, but it passes the test

Another vote for Transmission! It has all of the features of a torrent client you could possibly ever need, but still delivers them in a stupidly simple manner. Everything is organised, clean and to the point, just like a mac app should be.

@Theotherkid: Frostwire has such a massive footprint! It hogged so many system resources when I used it. Doesn’t it chug your computer? Seriously look at some of the other options, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Xtorrent is also good, but you have to pay $25 for it. Not worth it. BT clients are a dime a dozen.

Transmission transmission transmission

I agree with most of the others. Transmission won’t steer you wrong.
