Mr. Magoo’s “A Christmas Carol”.
all of the clay-mation movies that replay on the family channel :)
@ beaverhousen- Oh my gosh i feel old. The family channel didn’t exist when I was young.
My favorite was a tie. Charlie Brown and Rudolph. Charlie Brown because of how warm it made me feel. Rudolph because it was an hour long.
eh, don’t feel old Bri i’m just young.
;)
@ beaverhousen- hehe well taken.
The Year Without a Santa Claus. It’s a musical, and it’s pagan.
If you watch Rankin Bass “Santa Clause Is Coming To Town” There are two frames right before the first time the winter warlock appears where you can see an arm and a flash bulb.
I spent half hour when I was younger trying to prove I saw it on the VCR. Back then you couldn’t pause as readily as you can now. It took me a half hour to time it right.
“The Muppet Christmas Carol”, and “It’s Christmas, Charlie Brown”
On HBO, they always showed Emmet Otter’s Jug band Christmas – I loved that one!
It’s a Wonderful Life, any Charlie Brown special….Frosty the Snowman.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I can still recite that whole story front to back.
Rudolph, I loved the Bumble.
@SoapChef – you know….they bounce.
@Bri But they do not swim.
@ you got that right Soap
They Charlie Brown Christmas special. And, um, really back in the day I believe the California Raisins had a Christmas special that I watched a few times as a very small child.
@EP…I wasn’t quite as young as you, but yes…they did. :)
OH…the Grinch! (Only the animated version, though!)
Ditto on “The Muppet Christmas Carol,” as well as “Christmas Vacation”
Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer was my fave, followed closely by The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. I wanted the spotted elephant from the Island of Misfit Toys. I truly felt for those toys when I was small, and I still call the meat course of a big holiday dinner “the roast beast”.
The best, though, was when the CBS Special ident ran. First, the little hourly chime, then those drums kicked in and then the fanfare. Awesome. It was like the Christmas version of the Bat Signal for little ones all over America (and parts of Canada too, I’m sure) in the 70s and early 80s.
@ aprilsimnel – thanks for that awesome trip down memory lane.
Here is one from me from every Charlie Brown Christmas Special.
Coke Commercial
Oh, Bri,awesome, you’re the Bumble!
hehe BUT I am the new improved kind. I can bounce AND swim. hehe.
You’re a mean one, Mister Grinch..
