Is there a wireless router you can use on Ubuntu (hardy 64bit) on a fresh install?

Asked by ArchaicLion (103points) November 11th, 2008

I might be able to access a wireless connection in order to update and install packages. Is there a wireless router that can be used on a fresh install with no extra updates? The only other connection option on this particular computer is a win-modem (Intel 536EP) that is not supported as far as I can tell.

AFAIK you should be able to use most routers. I’m no expert on routers, but you should just be able to connect it with a wire or wireless and then visit it through your browser like you’d do with any other operating system. The main crux is finding a wireless card that works in Ubuntu, which might be a problem now and then.

Will get to your other question when I have more time :)
