I recommend k-lite it has anyting and everything you will need regarding codecs
I downloaded k-lite and I still cannot view my DVD’s. Any other ideas or instruction on how to make a DVD work on my Windows XP laptop?
Hmm. Strange. Are you certain that you have a DVD drive in your laptop?
Try VLC Player, I know it can read DVD’s
If it’s still not working I’m thinking that your CD rom drive can’t read DVD’s.
If you have an older laptop, or just a cheap one, it probably doesn’t have a DVD drive. Usually if you have the codecs and other software components ready and it still doesn’t work, it’s probably hardware.

I actually opted to install the VLC Media Player on my laptop. I already had it on my PC to play some non-mainstream formats and it does fine with DVDs.
