The Daily Show. I don't understand the appeal of Colbert.
The Daily Show = Rapid fire, sledgehammer wit.
The Colbert Show = An American satirist on par with Mark Twain.
Isn't it like asking a mother which child she likes best?
The Daily Show, by miles and miles. I appreciate the premise of the Colbert Report humor (and actually know republicans that don't get that they're being mocked), but the Daily Show is more direct, pointed and Jon can clearly hold his own with any of his guests (whereas Stephen falls back on sophomoric/self-adulating humor when he gets in a tight spot).
osakarob, yes i think it is like picking a favorite child, i think stephen would actually push you down the stairs to get candy where john would just thinkablut doing it, so im going with stephen:)
While they are both great, Colbert is sort of a one-joke concept. He's parodying O'Reilly. The End. I think being married to that central conceit, creatively, ties the hands of the Colbert Report. I'm going to have to cast a staunch vote with THE DAILY SHOW.
They are like peanut butter and chocolate, but I would have to say Colbert . . . for now : )
@syz apparently you haven't seen the Colbert Branson train wreck.YouTube!!!
Branson. What an ASS. That was surreal.
Now that Ed Helms is no longer on The Daily Show, I have to say the Colbert Report. They’re both great, but I prefer the way that Steven Colbert delievers his humor. It’s more dry and not over the top. I love Ed Helms sense of humor. There are a bunch of videos on this site from the daily show http://www.edhelms.org
