What old classic road bike do you ride?
This past summer I picked up a 1973 Torpado racing bike, and I’ll never be the same. Rides beautifully and I never go back to new, or anything not steel for that matter.
Curious as to what others ride.

1971 Carlton 10, bought at the factory, and only one owner, ever. Just put on my third leather seat.
now if I could only get the bottom bracket fixed
1984 Trek 720 Touring bike.
I got it for a steal because the guy thought it was a 520, but the 720 was the top of the line as far as touring bikes went back then. It’s got long chainstays to keep your feet from hitting the panniers, and braze-ons a-plenty. This bike took me all the way to Big Sur where the granny gear really came in handy. It rides stable and springy. Like you said; steel is king!
@figbash – Oh, you’re one of those fixed gear riders, eh?
I roll a Late 1980’s Early 1990’s Centurion LeMans RS fixed gear.
Green and white.. WOO!
@fG: Yesssss! But this one is rather advanced. Not only can I go backwards really fast, but note the blue brake on the right-hand side.
I ride an orion corsaro, single speed. I used to ride an old schwinn road bike, but it weighed about as much as my car, so now I only use it as a back up, in case I have my other bike getting tuned up.
Raleigh now, you putt’n me on?
