Selective. I can’t imagine socializing with everyone. I’m sure I’ve gotten more particular over the years, too. I remember being more inclusive when I was a teen and in my early 20s. Now, not so much.

Are there really people who socialize with everybody?

asmonet's avatar

No I do not, I’m sad to say I socialize with a mere forty or so members of the human race.

Considering there seems to be 6.85+ billion people I have yet to meet, I can’t say I socialize with everybody.

amurican's avatar

I try to socialiSe with every one. You never know what someone might offer?

amurican's avatar

I’m not the only one with spelling issues here. That’s a good thing!

Dorkgirl's avatar

How do you define “everyone”?
All ages, all genders, all ethnic backgrounds?
If you socialize with “everyone” does that mean that you socialize with people you don’t necessarily like or enjoy?

amurican's avatar

@Dorkgirl,I include as many types of life forms that will listen. Sometimes I even talk to Humans.

mea05key's avatar

everybody=people you don’t necessarily like or enjoy but for some reason or in order to gain a favor

Dorkgirl's avatar

@mea05key—so you socialize for personal gain not for enjoyment?

amurican's avatar

@mea05key, Naturally alterior motives often come to play.

mea05key's avatar

yea kind of sometimes. :)
And some other time, i think i jsut need to socialise more with people that i find i don’t like at the beginning but hopefully once the barrier is gone things will start to get interesting like what amurican said

Nimis's avatar

Is there such a thing as grammatical karma? Hmmm…
It seems strangely fitting that a question with spelling errors/typos
is receiving answers with equally terrible spelling errors/typos.

mea05key's avatar

@ amurican – agree.

amurican's avatar

@Nimis, I think you are on to something BIG.

mea05key's avatar

my sentences are always filled with errors. I have bad basics in english i admit.

Dorkgirl's avatar

Yikes, I rather thought socializing was for enjoyment not personal gain. I feel so naive. And more than just a bit disappointed in your perspective.

amurican's avatar

@mea05key,But oh you do express yourself beautifully. At least to me anywho.

mea05key's avatar

Dork: Sometimes i think that in order to survive especially when in working life, socialising becomes part of life and you really can’t choose to be only in a comfortable group. At least that is what i think for now.

mea05key's avatar

@ amurican thanks u shall get my lurve for the compliment haha

amurican's avatar

@mea05key, Does that mean I can address you as mea?

mea05key's avatar

Yeah… sounds cool to me !

asmonet's avatar

‘Edit this response…’ has a purpose, guys.

amurican's avatar

@mea, MARVELOUS!

scamp's avatar

@mea05key Please forgive the interuption of your thread, but I noticed that others have been scolding you for grammar, and in another thread you mentioned you are Asian. Is English a second language for you?

amurican's avatar

We all cant be geniuses. I’m perfectly resigned to the fact that I’m merely a genus.

amurican's avatar

@asmonet, If you have an extra “i” you want to give me I’ll try to slip it in between the “n” and “u”. I cant promise it wont wander….

mea05key's avatar

@scamp. In my country, english is a second language. Its weird cause in our country we tend to mix Malay, Chinese, and even Indian words in a sentence. That’s why in our country we have what we call as Malaysian English. Its practically a mixture of language. I tend to be one of those who enherit this crap. I cant construct proper english sentence now it takes a while to do so really..

mea05key's avatar

@ amurican – we are all learning…

amurican's avatar

mea@, Here in Amurica English is my 2nd laguNage too!

mea05key's avatar

Amurican – Where is Amurica?? Sounds just like america to me.

scamp's avatar

@mea05key thanks for answering. Hopefully now the others will understand why you struggle with the language and won’t pick on you so much!

loser's avatar

Depends on how much beer I have consumed!

mea05key's avatar

@Scamp- thanks for understanding.

scamp's avatar

You’re very welcome!

Nimis's avatar

Scamp: Thanks for bringing that up.
Wouldn’t have thought of that myself.

Mea: Hope nothing I said offended you.
Just figured you were on an iPhone!

mea05key's avatar

@Nimis Not at all. What you mean by “just figured you were on an IPhone!”

amurican's avatar

mea@,I barrowed the “U” from dumb and replaced the “E” in America with it. It expresses the clueless abandon so many folks here are eternally resigned to.

mea05key's avatar

… i cant catch spin offs…... ill beaware nt time lol

Nimis's avatar

Mea: What I meant was your errors struck me
more as problems with typing than grammatical.

Ill beaware nt time seems like the perfect example.
Typing on the iPhone can sometimes have similar issues.

mea05key's avatar

Yeah laziness just seep into me sometimes..

amurican's avatar

@mea, If you ever visit the state of Messypeepee you’ll know zakly whut’m taouk’n ‘bout.

mea05key's avatar

@ amurican

The people in messspepepe have weird slang .

amurican's avatar

@mea, In case you weren’t aware “Messypeepee” is slang for the state of Mississippi.

amurican's avatar

@mea, It’s fun making fun of slanguage everywhere. Heck all the Latin languages were essentially evolved slang variations. To speak any language correctly you have to be changing all the time.

I socialize with people whose company I enjoy and who I would like to foster a long term friendship with. I don’t have time, nor interest to socialize with everyone I meet day to day.
