Do you prefer accessing your toilet paper with it rolling over the top or from the side closest to the wall?

Over. God forbid you replace it the under way. I’ll stab you.
Under, then you don’y have to fight gravity pulling it up and over.
Over, over, over. I have given instructional demonstrations covering the correct T.P. etiquette in my house. Get it right, people. Over facilitates a nice strong pull when in need.
A real man doesn’t need toilet paper.
Wow, I never knew I was such an outcast. Maybe I should stop getting angry at my husband for putting the T.P. on the holder rolling over who would have know there was a science to toilet paper
Are you serious??? I am a toilet paper outcast. I can’t believe that I have been doing it wrong this “hole” time. O.K. that was a really bad joke.
Over.
And let’s discuss what we do once it’s ripped from the roll.
Do you:
A) Scrunch it up into a ball
B) Fold it end over end into a rectangle…
before (ahem) using it for it’s intended purpose?
I use method “B” by the way.
@cprevite – great follow-up question: How do you prepare your paper?
For my question, I prefer over the top. For the second, it is a combo – fold it up and then a slight wadding. ha ha
This is getting to be a little too much information to be sharing.
@lynzeut: Hang your head in shame.
Oh, and I wad it up, baby. Also, I’m relatively certain I use far more toilet paper than the average person…OK, maybe not far more, but significantly more.
Over…all the way. I am very picky about this, and have gone so far as to change it in other people’s houses! Think of it this way: Remember when TP had little printed patterns on it? If you roll over, you could see the printing on the “hanging down part”. If you roll under, you couldn’t. That indicates that the manufacturers meant for it to be rolled over.
I’m a gentle wadder, I do it sort of neatly.
@augustian – I like that description: “I’m a gentle wadder”
Nice
Neither… I was left alone in the house for a while and I have decided that putting the paper on the roll is a waste of time. I have proof.
And yes, I did just actually take a picture of my bathroom to post here.
JP, that is one HELL of a pink bathroom!
It is under construction at the moment. It would be nice to have a sink again.
over, sorry lynzeut, but you loose :P
Why exactly does everyone prefer their method?
(Besides Augustlan and Lynzeut.)
because it looks like it’s on backwards when the toilet paper is hanging against the wall.
@JP: I feel ya’. Our bathroom sink is non-operational, too. I refuse to have it repaired, until I can afford to replace the whole vanity.
You’re a genius, bodyhead. Where did you find that?
@bodyhead: That is awesome. I want to post those diagrams in my bathroom.
I stumbled it a long time before this question was asked.
Wow, pink!
Oh, and I don’t really care, as long as there is toilet paper.
I have no preference. The problem with “over” is that there is a tendency of the toilet paper roll to keep unfurling if pulled too hard (the same physics that help rolling a house). Anyone would hate it if a roll kept unrolling all over the place.
O.K, O.K., I will switch geeze
I’ve found that lefties tend to hang it under, are you a leftie lynzeut?
Cats and dogs usually don’t have a preference. I can’t tell which way the TP was on the roll here – but I’m guessing the cat was trying to change it and then…OOH! Look! A fly….

I actually gasp prefer it under.
Please don’t stone me out of town.
One of the reasons why I prefer it under is, as Steveprutz already stated, it tends to unfurl much more easily in the over position.
The other reason is that once I grab the toilet paper, it seems much easier to leverage my hand against the roll to tear it when in the under position. Perhaps this is just my imagination?
To answer Dalepetrie’s question, I was born a leftie but my parents switched me.
I am not a leftie… just wierd I guess.
@ Nimis glad to see that I am not the only one!
Nimis…NoooooOOOOOooooOOOOOooo!

Over! I hate having to scrape my fingernails on the wall to get it torn off. Plus, it just looks better.
@jbfletcherfan I think it does seem more inviting when it is over. It means “use as much as you want” compared to behind which seems to indicated that there is a limit.
Over; I prefer method B; just because; and yes, my leftie children always hang it under…go figure!
Over. I’ll actually change it if I’m at another person’s house and it’s hung under. Is that wrong?
Actually, I just noticed something.
If the toilet paper holder recedes into the wall, I hang it over.
Otherwise, I hang it under. Re-gasp.
I wonder what my subconscious rationale for that is?
@breedmitch, I don’t know if it’s wrong or not, but I’ve been known to do that, too. I wonder if they notice??? LOL.
I’ve changed it so many times in my best friend’s house, that she now hangs it my way…OVER.
Over. It allows for the easiest grabbing of the paper.
0v3r, and fold.
@steveprutz
The trick to fixing that is to squash the roll ever so slightly. Instant built-in stop.
