Does AOL delete AIM accounts that haven't been used?

Asked by queenzboulevard (2553points) November 15th, 2008

If so, how long does it have to be unused for? Does that SN get trashed, or does it get put back into the market for others to use?

Interesting question…
I just tried logging into an AIM account I created in 1999 and haven’t used in at least 3 years and it still worked. My buddy list even came up!
I guess it has to be inactive for more than 3 years. I’m totally surprised!
