Adium and iChat?

Asked by queenzboulevard (2553points) November 16th, 2008

This question sounds right because I know what I mean, but I think it might come off as confusing…
What stops you from using the other one?

I use both, iChat is really cool for Video conference with other AIM users, and Adium for all the rest on Msn or other protocols. I used a Jabber gateway for a certain time in iChat but it wasn’t very efficient.

I use iChat for everything except Yahoo and MSN. I don’t have very many contacts on those networks, but enough that I need to keep a presence there.

I use Adium because I have accounts on multiple networks, and iChat only handles AIM and Jabber.

I use Adium almost primarily. The only time I use iChat is for video chat. (Even though, now that gmail implemented video chat, I use that since all my friends are on gmail.)

is there any client for mac osX that handles gtalk/jabber, yahoo, hotmail, and aim? meebo and ebuddy do on the web, but…
