If you have been on fluther for a while, do you now feel like you are getting questions that are usually of interest to you?

For the most part, yes. They usually interest me, but I don’t always respond to every single question I get sent. Sometimes one I don’t really care about sneaks in there though. I also read each question I get sent (the title of the question that is, not the whole thread). I’ve never hit “remove all” once since I’ve been here.
I would say that about a third of the time it piques my interest.
Though I am new, I think that they might take them from your interests in your bio and send them to you because of them. It sounds logical to me.
I stopped looking at them.
I used to check them regularly and it was a bit of a crapshoot. They’ve gotten better though, more tailored. I would’t say they are ideal but I blame myself for that. I answer almost every question I see so, how could Futher figure me out all the way? :)
The “powers that be” seem to know me pretty well. There aren’t too many sent my way that don’t interest me at least a little.
It’s hit and miss for me really but since I’m an equal opportunity information source, I’ll try to answer anything and everything where I can give a solid answer or informed opinion or provide references to where one might find the answer they are looking for.
Nearly every question I get is spot on, but I do get two types of questions that never interest me, yet they still get sent to me:
Questions about medicine (those don’t necessary interest me, but I have no idea how to answer them, most of the questions are technical and all I know is that when you eat stuff, it becomes poo, that is the extent of my medical knowledge. Why Fluther thinks I’m a doctor, I have no idea.)
The other questions are one’s about Christianity. Most of the questions are about it, like “why is god awesome?” I don’t care to answer those types of questions, but for some reason I think Fluther thinks I should.
sometimes I get those right out of left field type of questions, but that is because the person asking the question puts every imaginable tag on their questing.
@jp – ZOMG.
Mine aren’t bad. I don’t have “religion” as one of my interests, I don’t think, but Fluther’s absolutely right in sending those to my inbox, since I usually respond to them. For some reason, Fluther seems to think I’m insanely interested in animals – I keep getting questions posted by caac4.
Often, I just check out the Questions for You section without looking at the home page. That’s probably not very good. I just love to see that red number disappear.
@shadling21
I like watching the numbers go away too! Hehehe!
I don’t mind getting the religious questions, but most of them are totally nothing I care about, or I would get moded for if I answered them. Not to mention, I usually don’t like participating in any kinda of religious conversations on the internet because (even here on Fluther) most turn out like so:
“So… Religion?”
“YA! Religion!”
“Your wrong! I’m Right!”
“No! I’m Right!”
“Wrong!”
“Right!”
“Your Ugly!”
“Your Dumb!”
ect…
@jt- Yeah, but that can be so entertaining! I love being astounded by the stubbornness and ignorance of some people and stunned by the logic and open-mindedness of others. There’s always the cool dude (or dudette) who says, “Guys, it just doesn’t matter. Put the swords away.”
Probably 80% are right up my alley, though I often get at least one or two that make me scratch my head. I have no clue why they’d be sent to me. Ah, well…keeps it interesting!
I had five or six of them waiting for me tonight. I don’t think any of them suited me tonight, though some have on other days.
This was one of the 20 waiting for me and I agree with asmonet, it’s hard to expect a tailored list of questions when i’ll answer everything from resume questions to religion to politics to movies.
