What is usually asked on an apartment rental app?

I’ve always lived with a room mate in a house they already had. What should I expect when applying for an apt?

My experience is a Canadian one. Yours might vary.
They asked us for our rental history. They probably called to verify we paid our previous rent on time, etc. They asked us for our job information including salary. We also had to consent to a police background check. We knew all this coming in as our building is a Crime Free one. The forms indicated they may do a credit check.
hmm well im screwed for housing references as ive never had a landlord that knew i was there lol could i make one up or use the person i was staying with?
I used my parents for my first apartment. It went fine.
Edit, don’t make someone up. They will contact the person to make sure you’re not some random deadbeat. So if you don’t have a landlord, go with personal references.
Yeah, don’t lie. Everyone’s had a first landlord at some point or another. If everything else on your app is good, they probably won’t have a problem.
name, birthday, information about yourself, cars you will have there, other people that will live there, credit\ bank status. records of your credit. ussually a co- signer. Where you work. And that’s all i can remember that i had to fill out.
Eviction history, social security number, address, previous address, landlord info, previous landlord info, credit references, personal references, emergency contact info, Will you have pets? Who will be living in the apartment? How many cars do you own? Make, model and license plate numbers, employment history, Income, source of income, .......

Don’t tell them that you never had a landlord who know you were there. If you told that to me I would assume that you would move unauthorized people into MY apartment! Offer to pay an increased deposit or get a co-signer. It’s about time you establish a rental history of your own!
