Was the Kennedy Assasination a Conspiracy?

Asked by Skaggfacemutt (9820points) November 21st, 2008

I know that many of you weren’t born yet, but with all of the Kennedy Assasination programs on TV in November, I have to ask. I was convinced that it was a conspiracy after watching the movie JFK. Now I am not so sure.

With Canadian-filter on. I have read a lot about the issue. I been to the location of the assassination. There’s a mark on the road where the fateful event occurred. The book depository is a museum now and you can go inside it. My dad has thought it was someone behind the grassy knoll and used the opportunity to see the vantage point from the knoll. I stood in the window where Oswald was at. Based on this interesting day, and my previous research, my opinion was that his assassination was planned in great length by someone other than Oswald, and Oswald was coerced to attempt an assassination to draw attention away and to be an easy official conclusion. The location was strategic for the underpass cover, combined with the lack of security at the area. I also find the data of event recreations to strongly support the conclusion of multiple shooters. Note how Oswald was killed very soon after the event (Oswald’s killer also died within a few years of the event although he did take time to say there was no conspiracy). There are plenty of valid motives as well.

@DyDuo: Two things: How did you stand at the window where Oswald shot from? I have been to the museum many times and they have the particular window glassed off. I haven’t been there in two years, so maybe it changed?

Secondly, I find it interesting to note that the white cross painted at the spot of where Kennedy took the bullet is unofficial and is painted over in black everyday by the city, but it mysteriously reappears every morning. I am certain the city looks the other way to whomever is doing the re-markig, but I like the mystery. Kinda like the person who leave booze at Poe’s grave.

As for the question, I certainly think there was some sort of conspiracy and that Oswald in no way acted alone IMHO.

I was there about 10 years ago, maybe more, and was a kid so I might have gotten into a place I shouldn’t have. If it wasn’t the exact window, it was one beside it or above it. And the ground marking is no doubt not in the exact place. To be honest I can’t remember the exact details, and not like it matters a lot because I sure wasn’t doing anything approaching accurate studies. Apparently a group did run simulations and their shooting expert wasn’t able to recreate Oswald’s shot though. That’s more scientific than my entire story :)

I just saw the show on TV, “Inside the Target Car” and they brought up a good point – if there were any shots coming from the grassy knoll, the bullets would have struck Jackie. I think Oswald did the shooting, but I don’t think he acted alone.
