What are you thankful for?

Asked by daisy (496points) November 23rd, 2008

Times are tough, the economy is in the toilet, which has probably affected everyone negatively in some way. Beyond that, what can you say you are grateful for this year?

I’m thankful for my wife, my family, my relatives, my friends, my pets, my good health, my job security, the roof over my head, the food on my table, and the meaningful and productive life I’ve lived so far.

I am very grateful for my family and their good health. I just lost a friend to ALS this week and see how he suffered. He never got to enjoy the retirement he worked so hard for.

I agree with bluefreedom, who has covered the bases well. Except I don’t have a wife. I have a husband who loves me a has spoiled me rotten.

I am grateful that I have graduated. NO more exams. But seriously, its a bad time to graduate with this economy situation. I am afraid to get fired. Besides that, i manage to keep in touch of some of my old friends. Its a good feeling.

I am thankful for three little men, one big man, Gimme and her family and all the things that BlueFreedom mentioned – well put Blue.

I am thankful for my family far and away, first and foremost.

I am thankful we are all healthy.

I am also thankful that we have a roof over our heads and we are doing fine financially.

I am also thankful that we were all lucky enough to be born in the USA.

I started to make a list and then it was a novel. I’m grateful for so much more than I could ever list; my family, good health, etc. Suffice it to say I am swimming in gratitude, gratefully!

I am thankful my mother has lived another year. She has lung disease, but has stayed with us bravely and without complaining of her pain. She is my hero.

I am thankful for a husband who always supports me and loves me for exactly who I am. I really am blessed.

I am thankful for all of the people that I have met. Even though it has been a big roller coaster ride (especially the past 2 years), it was worth the trip.

I am thankful for having a second chance in education and I want to pass this on to others.

And finally, I am thankful for everyone that has put a smile on my face at some time in my life.

I am thankful for my parents who brought me to this world, for the girl who loves me so much and who I love so much; for every happy moment in my life.

But especially I am thankful for all the sufferings I ever had.
They made me who I am.

I am thankful for my beautiful baby girl, Mia. She was born a year ago with a multitude of complications and by the grace of God is doing miracuously well. I am thankful that God continues to heal her when science and medicine say it is impossible. And I am thankful for a husband who loves and supports me unconditionally. For family and friends who are always helping. And for a God who is good always.

My husband, our children, our friends.
That we own our home, not the bank.

Me! No, I’m not really that concided lol. But I am thankful for the life I was given. I was adopted and my mother could have easily had an abortion (she was 15 and it was a summer fling), but she didn’t and now even though we don’t always get along, I have a wonderful family and relatives that all love me very much.

I am thankful for the love of family and friends and for the life my parents gave me. Beyond that, a home (paid for) and a job (very shaky, but there) and, in a great big way, the sheer physical and mental ability to do what I need done. Having watched elderly parents and in-laws deteriorate inch by inch, I am grateful to be able to walk across the floor under my own power, to prepare my own meals and feed myself, to work and play as I choose, and to go to the bathroom without assistance. If and when the time comes that I lose these abilities, I will never have to say that I didn’t appreciate them while I had them.
