Target is selling some really odd trees this year. Would you buy something like this? You can see more on the menu to the left….WOW!!

Almost reminds me of a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. I suppose in the right situation it would probably work. Personally, no!
If they were more like $5 – $10 each, I’d get a bunch of them and make a little Seuss-ian forest. At that price? No, thank you.
Dr Suess theme? OK…maybe.
Those should be the new meaning of Christmas!
Kind of a cross between Grinch, Charlie Brown and a Festivus pole. They do have some unusual cough, cough trees this year, don’t they?
I think they’re kinda cute. Oooh, they have it in pink. I don’t even celebrate Christmas, but I might get one anyone.
But then again, it’s been mentioned more than once that I’m tacky…
Why do the trees have names like Lucas, Ashley, and Spencer? Am I looking at Christmas trees, or a baby book from the 90’s?
And then Windsor, Frasier, and Winston? Again, Christmas Trees, or House of Commons members?
Those Fantasy trees take the cake, though. They’re horrible. Here’s my runner-up.
That is quite easily the ugliest thing I have ever seen.
Uh, no.
I suspect we will be seeing this in the clearance section of many a Target store in a couple of months.
Feel sorry for the Target purchaser who thought these would be a “winner”.
no i sure wouldn’t. i agree with raggedy ann. it looks like a charlie brown tree.
Is that even a tree? looks like some christmas broom.
I have seen some of the fugliest trees ever this year.
Maybe it was originally pipe cleaner?
@tonedef I saw that one too! My reaction was…WHAAAA????
No, but I would buy a red Festivus Pole if they sold them.
Something tells me that’s not a Festivus Pole…
Um, no. Those are a little too weird, even for me!!!
$54.00!!
There isn’t much at target that I would spend fifty four dollars on.
Only if it was on Woot…I have no Woot will power. I will buy damn near anything from them
Nope, not even if my life depends on it, ewww! That thing is discusting, that thing is killing the xmas spirit everywhere :s
@sueanne: If it was on Woot, they’d be 3 to a pack for $20.
They must be laying people off from the Hospital Gowns Design Department.
I always said even misanthropes have to earn a living.
Nope, I wouldn’t. But I remember that my aunt had a silver christmas tree for years when I was growing up. I thought it was tacky even then!
@augustlan , My Grandmother had a silver tree when I was a kid, and I thought that was weird!!
My granny had a silver tree too! I loved how it shimmered.
Those silver trees are collector’s items, depending on who made them…
no, I am not kidding
I had no idea…. thanks for that bit of trivia!
peedub – that’s because that’s a stripper pole =)
@PnL it does kinda look like one, doesn’t it?
Haha, it’s funny. I completely forgot about this thread and then made this at work today using copy paper, colored paper clips, post-its, and green and red markers. :’(
Oh, not to mention the The Great Kleenex Blizzard of ‘08.
NOOOOO actual display of Christmas trees prior to Thanksgiving please, asmonet. No, no, no.
:)
I wanted it to be done in time. No worries, I hid it from the coworkers! That thing took three hours of fiddling and being stabbed with paper clips! I was just answering phones anyway. :)
Then I had to remember the fucking origami for the boxes! >:(
@Syz: My dad is a Christmas fanatic…I think he has seven trees (all themed), including his newest one. Yep, you guessed it…an upside down tree (for OUTSIDE!)
@tonedef Actually, most of those names are telling you what types of trees they are. I take it you’ve never heard of a Frasier or a Douglas Fir? Those are both common Christmas trees. They probably were named after people years ago, which is why they sound like old names.
As to the “tree” in question – that thing’s horrible! :P
