Hi there. My son is a high school student. He use cell phone mostly for texting messages (mostly to friends during the boring Math lectures). My monthly allowance is quite less and most of it goes towards paying cell phone bill. Can anyone out there suggest a cheap plans?

We were able to add unlimited text messaging for $5 a month on Sprint. Have you called your carrier to see what they offer? Our your should make him pay his own part of the phone bill…
and, IMHO, he should be grounded for not paying attention in math class
So not letting him take it to school would solve the problems? Because we weren’t allowed to have phones at school and that seems to have worked out okay for us.
Seems like the letting your son text in math class part is where you should place your focus first…as an instructor, I find that behavior incredibly rude, and alarming that parents condone it.
My daughter has 300 text messages a month. When she goes over that, she pays for it.
Funny thing, after 2 months of giving me $25, she stayed within 300 messages. She starting thinking about whether it was worth .15 cents to say ‘yes’ ‘no’ and ‘kewl’.
The hard part is that you get charged for incoming texts as well, not just the ones that are sent. My daughter had 1,100 texts in one month from one person.
