What's a good way to find someone to code a simple corporate site?
I’ve been asked to be responsible for the coding of a simple corporate ‘brochure’ site. Less than 20 pages, simple 2–3 column layouts with all the visuals done, and a very simple CMS news component.
What’s a good way to find someone to do the actual build at the best possible price? Has anyone had success with elance.com? What should I look/search for?
Any other tips about remote outsourcing?

Maybe check into this. I’ve never used the site, but I’ve browsed it and it might be worth looking into.
We’ve had excellent luck with eLance. Like any project outsourced you need to be very-very-clear on what you expect.
Another good site is ProgrammerMeetDesigner
I’ve used both and been very happy with the quality of work.
I agree with PupnTaco. If you know a little stuff about websites then just do it with Wordpress. Very easy to use…
We actually did a quick test and indeed decided upon WordPress – it’s open-source (thus free), mature (thus relatively easy to use and with great online support), and highly extensible.
I’d definitely do it myself but I’m tied up with another project – both are time sensitive so the cost/benefit for me here is to have the light coding done by someone experienced who can whip it up probably in a night or two vs. myself who can do it and ‘Google’ myself along but will take up an inordinate amount of time…
I’ll check out ProgrammerMeetDesigner…
I’m a fairly new consultant and just growing to the point where I’m starting to outsource work out of specialty – any stories, tips, lessons, etc. are welcome. Thanks!
