Would anyone else enjoy an "@username" link?

I was just thinking that a button or option to put a @username in your respounce would be a great addtion to fluther. I find myself adding the @username so many times, but some people have the longest, most convoluted names, and I always type them wrong, or spend ten minutes to make sure I get the name right.
I was just thinking that having something like that would be awesome, and make life easier.

@jtvoar16
I just copy and paste.
Sure, but sometimes I don’t even notice the hidden funniness in peoples’ handles until I type them out!
The fewer buttons the better. I can do it myself.
Sorry, I’m new to fluther….what does it mean when one types ”@username”? Does it mean you are directing your response to that individual directly?
@spartacus:
yes.
It’s an easy way to response to something someone else said, especially if their post is a few more up from yours.
Perfect. Thanks guys. Makes a lot of sense.
I don’t really need that, but automatically making @username into a link to the referenced users last post in the current thread would be nice. If anyone understand a s**t about my gibberish :S
Stop ruining the surprises!
Like omph, I usually copy and paste. Also, people misspell my name all the flipping time. In that regard, a button-created @username link would be something of a boon.
@aidje: (did I get it right?) Me, too. I am widely known as August i an, but I am actually August L an. I pretty much stopped worrying about it long ago : )
@augustlan
Yes, you did. :-) I think it frustrates me because it makes me realize that people have no clue how it’s pronounced. The most common misspelling (aid – ie) is quite far from the preferred pronunciation, which is rather close to “adge” as in “badge”.
@augustlan: You could do what sndfreQ did and capitalize the L.
@andrew I thought that once we picked a name (unlike the avatar) it could not be changed. In any way…?
@Snoopy I guess andrew allways can do anything :)
we have to answer with an @ in this thread right?
@wilhel1812:
Yes. Or all of reality will turn to marshmallow.
@Andrew: I’m so used to it now, I don’t think I’d change it…even if I knew how!
@augustLan. I am sure I was one of the offenders. My apologies…
those darn letters are so small…and I have not accepted the idea of glasses. Yet.
@wilhel you are so right. I forgot. Andrew can do anything.
@Snoopy: No need for apologies! It truly doesn’t bother me anymore, and I will gladly answer to either spelling : )
It’s those dang upper case “I“s and lower case “l“s that confuse people so much! See…they look exactly the same.
@augestIan:
My head just exploded.
@augustlan:
It happens a lot when my perceptions of reality are brought into question, or shear realization of an absolute truth, such as the paradox of “I” and “l” as in the previous post.
I feel I should bring this to the attention of Steven Hawking. He should be able to shed some light on this problem of I’s and l’s.
@Snoopy: Changing case is not a problem. Changing names (once you’re established) is less likely to happen.
Come on, guys; they’re totally different. The I is wider than the l.
No, no, no I disagree, I think the I is thiner then the l, or the |.
Okay, let’s try this out.
IIIlllIIIlllIIIlllIIIlll
IIIlllIIIlllIIIlllIIIlll
lllIIIlllIIIlllIIIlllIII
Alternating sets of three. With which letter did I start on each row?
/head explodes… AGAIN
this damn thread has done that^ to me like 80 times now!
you started the first two sentences with “eye” and the last one with “L.”
I cheated and had my mac read it to me.
Additional functions like this could work like the avatar overlays in most twitter apps: they look like this and you could have reply, and various other links overlaid when you mouse over.
