There is no scabbing or puss, it is just a very large, and growing larger each day, lump. I fear it may be a type of cancer but ifanyone has any answers it would be greatly appreciated. Many concerns -Alyson

Oh other information about my cat, she is only 4 years old, not very old for a cat, she has not been around smoking for about a year and her allergies have not been flaring up.
It could be anything really. I have had cats all through out my life and whenever they get a lump it always seems to be something else. However, I am aware of some common problems. Most of the time it is ether a bone-spur, benign fatty tumor (a lot of my cats have had those over the years), or, if you cat is a very hairy cat, a flee bite, or matted hair.
Seeing as it is under her, chin, I would suspect it is a fatty tumor. I would take Rukus to the doctor if you can afford it. Most (90%) of fatty tumors are harmless, but if it is growing, I would be worried, because the only common things I can think of are the flee bites, or the hair matting (which could mean many other problems.)
Summery: Take her to the vet if you can, anything that is below the skin of a cat the grows, usually isn’t a good, or safe thing.
Sorry if this worries you. But I know cats pretty well, as I have been living with them my entire life, as one point our house had 28, now we are down to four, maybe five if I get one of the Siamese kitten my friend breads (I love Siamese!) Also this is my disclamer: I am not a vet, nor doctor, or even close to ether of those, so don’t quote my words as being in stone.
For further information
The lump has only been there for 3 days and it is really big, is there any chance and fatty tumor could grow that fast
Most fatty tumors don’t grow that fast, unless they are infected, or severe enough to warrant surgery. What still gets me is the fact that it is on her chin…
If it has grown that rapidly, I would suspect an abscess or a tooth root abscess. Feline acne (which can occasionally be quite severe) is also a possibility. In any case, you need to get her into your vet on Monday.
(Lipomas tend to develop on middle aged and older pets, and while they can develop anywhere, they tend to be located on the body wall.)
syz could check me on this, but when my animals have mysterious things happening I usually ask our vet’s receptionist to help me decide what to do.
I agree that this is not a lipoma or a cancer – it’s growing too fast. Sounds like an abscess to me. No pus, huh? I bet there’s pus inside it. Need the vet to open that and clean it up. Then antibiotics. Bet you a nickel.
I went to the, and its nothing, the bump is completely gone, but he did givbe her a lukimiea shot
Good to hear. Thanks for letting us know!
