Mine that I own is an ‘83 acoustic Alverez custom made :) perfect condition.
@Elumas
Alvarez makes some beautiful instruments. I have an Alvarex mandolin and it’s terrific. Also, the greatest acoustic guitar I’ve ever played is a friend of mine’s Alvarez DYM200 Yairi from the early 80’s.
As for my favorite, well it’s my baby- a limited edition Taylor made with Pao Ferro wood. I don’t even remember the model name but I got it new in 95 or 96.
Yeah, I love that my guitar is older than ME. Great guitar absolutely gorgeous.
I have a Baby Taylor. I just love the little thing!
I bought a brand new Gibson SG about two year ago and it is my most precious possession. I’ve always been a Gibson fan, but the SG does it more for me than the Les Paul.
I like my Gibson Explorer, but Gibson quality has really plummeted recently. If I hadn’t gotten a great deal, I would have sent it back because of the finish wrinkles around the set neck. A friend returned two Les Pauls because they were complete crap.
I own a few guitars, all with different tone and feel, and I love them all. Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, Danelectro, Hagstrom, Ibanez…it’s a toolbox, and each is the perfect tool for a particular job.
Same with amps and effects…
As for acoustics, my all-time favorite is a cheapo Ibanez Talman acoustic-electric, probably the sweetest little box I’ve ever played- but then again, it may just be one in a million. That’s how it works.
@knot: I wanna come over to your house to play!
Cool! you’ll be jammed into an area roughly the size of a small bathroom, though. my secret clubhouse, hee hee
Secret clubhouse?!! Cool!!!
I’d like a nice Martin 12-string someday. Mine’s a 22-year old Ibanez 12-string I bought in college and it’s been through the wringer.
