This is probably a better question to ask your doctor or your pharmacist than to ask Fluther. They have medical licenses and the training to answer questions like this; your average Flutherer does not.
This is definitely a question for your doctor or pharmacist.
If we told you yes, would you seriously take our word for it and take both medicines with no questions asked?
I would never trust an anonymous person on the internet with even a small facet of my health unless I verified what they said my a medical professional.
I’m asking because I am doing research on drug interactions with antidepressants and I couldn’t find much about it when I try looking it up.
These two drugs almost never have an interaction, and, in general are safe to take. However, using an online drug interaction checker (for citalopram and oxycodone) indicates one rare episode of serotonin syndrome linked to use of both drugs. Citalopram and hydrocodone do not interact directly, but both combinations (i.e. citalopram + either hydrocodone or oxycodone) can increase the risk of central nervous system depression.
FYI, I’m a doctor.
