Anyone know of a way to make some extra money?
I’m a stay at home mom, looking to make some extra money from home. Being a mystery shopper would be great but I don’t want to get scammed. What agency is reliable? What about jobs such as being a letter stuffer, does that still exist? If so, where do I go to get hired/find more information? Any other job from home ideas?

I forgot to add, I’m located in Olympia WA.
Medical Transcriptions. My sister did it from home when her kids were not in school. She did have to get schooling for it, but it was only a few months.
A friend of mine works for a company called West at Home. She makes her entire living from them because she has back trouble and can’t work outside the home.
One Christmas (when We lived in Oregon and our family was young) We were really broke. We lived in Oregon We didn’t think we would be able to buy Christmas presents. My first husband went out into the woods with his shotgun and shot mistletoe out of the trees. We bagged it up with Christmas ribbon and me and the kids sold it in front of a shopping center. When asked what it was for my children were honest. They said it was so their parents could buy them Christmas presents this year. My kids still have a pretty good work ethic.
That’s a pretty neat idea Judi, but I think she is looking for something longer lasting.
Yeah, but it’s a quick fix until she figures it out.
This is true! You usually have such great ideas. I thought you’d have one for long term also, and I thought you may have missed that part of the question.
I can tell her that The Secret Shopper I usually use for my apartments hires out of temp agencies.
If you live near a university, you may be able to make some money by signing up to be a subject in a psychological or medical experiment. The business school here also pays people to be part of their studies.
I work with someone whose wife sells American food products to overseas customers on e-bay, and makes pretty good money.
Hmm, you could always babysit at home for other children?
Do not pay money for an “opportunity” what ever you do….this is a tough one. I would try and buy scrap gold and then scrap it out.
Do you havce any particular skills? What did you previously do or were you always a stay at home mom? Do you have a college degree?
Mtl_zack has something there. I’m not much of an eBay shopper myself, but I have a friend who left a lucrative career in high-tech to go back to school for a change of careers. While in school she got started buying up novelties and crafts and selling them at a profit on eBay. She did so well that she decided to concentrate on her buying-and-selling business and forget about studying for a new career. She said her digital camera was the main investment, and she simply got in the habit of making a post office run every day to ship the parcels punctually.
Judi: How neat! I would have never guessed
that mistletoe was harvested by shotgun.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions and advice.
