I have to switch from AT&T (I have an iPhone) to Verizon and I want to go back to a Blackberry (I had an 8700 last year). I’m having trouble finding the BB for me, I don’t know if I want the storm. I was looking at the Curve, hate the Pearls small two letter keys. The storm has what seems like a lot more features but I don’t know if I can take another touch screen…think the curve is a good choice?

Since the touch screen is what you want to get away from I would say no to the storm, but I have used a friend of mine’s storm and it isn’t like touching the iphone, however to be safe my boyfriend has the Curve and loves it and i do hear good things about the Bold too. I do know about a return policy that Verizon has so you could test it out for couple of days see if you like it, worst case you return it.
Yeah the Bold looks like the perfect combination of what I’d like…unfortunately it’s on the AT&T network…sigh. I’ll most likely go with the Curve. Thanks for your input though.
Oh ooops sorry about that I thought the Bold was on Verizon too. I say the best thing is to go down and to play with the phones, and to talk with the sales guys, they know the best sometimes. Remember that the phones on the floor have been used the most so aren’t the best representation of what you’ll get right out of the box too.
I am in a similar situation as you. Except I already have Verizon but want a PDA. I really like the Nokia E71 (it’s absolutely positively amazing and better than BB IMO) but Verizon won’t let me use it with their plan. Hmph. So now I am considering moving to AT&T with it. if you don’t mind me asking, why are you switching to Verizon from AT&T?
curve or pearl. try out the storm i think verizon has a 30 try before you buy thing… and once you get used to it… the keys on the pearl arent too bad.. its what i have and i like it.
@PnL .:. I was in tears when having to leave AT&T, but I had to for my company. If I switched to Verizon then I’d get a stipend for the monthly bill…so basically i’d be getting it free, vs my iPhone bill which was 94 a month. I did however notice that Verizon has MUCH better service in my area than AT&T had, not to mention their base cell speed was a LOT faster than AT&Ts Edge network.
luminous – i am sure you will love Verizon too! I actually am reluctant to leave Verizon myself because of the brilliant service. I had Sprint before this, and I hated hated that. Worst cell phone company. Verizon has been such a sigh of relief ever since I switched. And compared to others, it does seem to have the best service. So the Q is, are you in it for talking (which, yes, some people still use phones to talk to people haha) or in it for the cool phones.
It sounds like you are getting a great deal by switching to Verizon, I am sure you’ll like it once you get used to it!
