Ding Ding Ding…we have a winner!
The Same (e.g. the opposite of the opposite of good:
=opposite X opposite of good
=Opposite X bad
=good
If the opposite of good is bad and the opposite of opposite is the same, is good the same as bad?
@seqdeha i meant that the opposite of the opposite of good = good
I was just making a funny. Guess it was “the same” as funny…
question? how to decipher between a serious comment and a “funny” comment?
if ( $answer == Laughter ) {
echo “That must be funny”;
} else {
echo “That must be serious”;
}
@glial; please translate that answer for me.
try {
makeEmLaugh($joke);
} catch ($error) {
explainYourself($error, $joke);
}
Sorry, gailcalled, we’re throwing around geekspeak in the form of programming idioms.
glial’s says: “If the answer leads to laughter, say ‘That must be funny.’, otherwise, say ‘That must be serious.’”
Mine says, “Try to make ‘em laugh with a joke. If that fails, explain yourself.”
Welcome to geek humor….
segheda: Watch out. I may pepper this thread w. French, Spanish, Latin and classical Greek ..greek humor, I guess. Thanks for the translation, BTW . (Are you ready for the onslaught of tourists at yr front door?)
Hrmmm; si hoc legere scis, nimium eruditionis habes.
Go, gailcalled. Show ‘em there were geeks long before computers showed up. Greek and Latin humor rules, or in my favorite variants to Julius Caesar:
Veni, Vidi, Cerebros consumpsi.
Veni, Vermini, Vomui.
Veni, Vici, Venerii.
Veni, Vidi, Castratavi illegitimus.
Veni, Vidi, Spurius brutus deitrum covi.
