Californians (and others) do traffic laws allow delivery drivers, repair persons, and others of their ilk to disobey traffic laws the rest of us have to follow?

If you ever get to watch the show Parking Wars on A&E, you’ll see that isn’t the case, at least in Philadelphia.
I don’t think it is legal. I’ve seen them ticketed (albeit, probably at a reduced rate than they should). I just think that these types of businesses incorporate routine parking and traffic citations into the cost of doing business (which, ultimately, is transferred to you and me).
No, they just don’t get caught when you happen to see them breaking the law. I was watching “Parking Wars” about Philadelphia parking & traffic enforcement yesterday; delivery people get tickets all the time.
No, they do that stuff illegally. Cops do seem to be a bit lenient on delivery people. I think it just depends on if/who catches them.
Not to mention how they are ALWAYS in the bike lane! I think that these companies owe the city a fee for this type of thing that can be used for bike/ped improvements.
The answer is no. The only people who can do that are limo drivers. Everyone else has rules.
NVOldGuy is right. they have rules but usually you will see them parked like that while making a delivery etc. they are no higher rank than we are but in a way he is wrong it isnt only limo drivers who get that privelage anyone driving a Sami-Truck or any of the rather BIGGER trucks are exceptions to parking rules
I used to work in the delivery business, and while delivery drivers do park illegally, the worst offenders are people in cars that park in loading zones. If people could keep their damn Probes and Saturns out of the loading zone, then the delivery guy wouldn’t have to park in the freaking alley. Leaving your emergency four ways on while making the delivery will get you off most ticketing offenses.
