If you’ve had an analysis (as opposed to psychotherapy), how would you say your life has been affected?

Formal Freudian analysis? Yes, six sessions in the late 1970s. I found them to be a complete waste of time, nothing more than verbal “sparring matches”, Thirty five years later I was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, which may explain why the analysis was ineffective. “Talking therapies” are seldom effective with autism spectrum people, especially adults who have developed their own coping strategies and social defenses.
Any of these “talking” methods require some level of trust and autistic-types will seldom offer that trust to anyone.
