I think that many people say “I don’t want anything (material), just want to be happy and around my family . But I think that EVERYONE expect a little present of your loved ones, how about you?

Love, peace and health are good and all that, but who doesn’t want presents?
screw spirituality, i want a new lens or maybe some really expensive coffee table book
There just isn’t anything I need. After years of raising our family and struggling financially, we have finally reached the point in our life where we have all the ‘things’ we need or want.
Now I see my children working hard to make their way and with the way the economy is, they are having a tough time. I told them not to buy us anything. Having a fun day with family really is what I want this year for Christmas.
Presents. I love seeing my family and all the traditions of Christmas, but let me tell you: at least a few of those traditions have to do with presents. For instance, I would throw a fit if, for the first time in 23 years, my mom suddenly decided not to give me pajamas to wear on Christmas eve. Or if my presents were on the wrong side of the tree (you might think this is a weird point, but the presents were flipped last year and it just threw everything off—we had to stop and unflip them). And then, you know, beyond that it’s not such a big deal.
I just really like all our family traditions and a number of them surround Christmas presents.
I just want to be left alone. I buy what I need when I need it. It is just a stressful day for me and I think it is a bullshit holiday. In the past it might have had its merits but as it stands it is just an excuse to consume shit that we don’t really need.
There are 365 days every year that I can spend with my family if I want to.

But, if we get to pick one gift I would like universal health care for everyone.
For Christmas, I would like to get…through it.
Christmas, or the holidays in general, are my favorite time of year. I honestly don’t care much about presents, they’re just extra on top of the good feelings and family time. Last year my family was having a bit of a financial crisis, so we didn’t get each other anything. We still had some gifts from extended family, and we spent most of christmas morning relaxing by the fire with hot chocolate. It was awesome, and we didn’t need gifts to make it special.
I asked my so-called children to make the food. I might take a nap.
@augustlan: I second that my friend.
@augustlan—one thing i want for Christmas is my mom to get a friggin job and stop showing up at my school for every event that goes on!!!!!!
