What is a good subject for a story?

I am trying to write a lot of short stories and I can’t think of many subjects. I am trying to stick with horror stories involving doomsday, zombies, eternal darkness. Stuff like that would be very helpful.

A civilization who does not use money, nor do they know of money. They are all forced to work for their food, which is given to them by the government.
Girl living alone, stalked by guy she meets at the gym, who somehow gets into her house and computer and sabatoges everything she does, including her job.
A person joins the SETI@home Project and allows his computer to be a part of the world-wide network of computers that is sifting radio signals from space, looking for signs of intelligent life. One day the signal comes, and it is alive, and it inhabits the millions of computers running SETI. The next time the computer owners touch their computers, it also inhabits them. Quietly at first. Then a few go mad. Then more. It spreads from computer to computer, system to system. A few people remain rational, able to tap the alien as well as their human side. Is it for good or bad?- you take it from there.
Write about someone whose whole life is a fabrication on fluther.
it is a good idea to write stories about subjects you know and like but some good senarios could be about someones reaction to lossing a computer game he could run around killing everyone
