Which one of the Godfather movies is the best?
I just watched the second. I looked up the third and a few people from the first two aren’t in it I think. Is the third as good as the first two, or should I not watch it?

I’ve always liked the first Godfather the best out of all of them. It set the standard for the sequels to follow and made a niche for itself in movie history. I have the entire collection and I enjoyed the first two Godfather movies more than I did the third one (although the third one was still good also, in my opinion). I would recommend seeing the third one so you can see how the whole plot/storyline finally comes to a conclusion and what becomes of the Godfather’s family legacy.
Part one is the best, part three is a complete waste of time.
The first.
I’m pretty certain it is #1 on IMDB’s greatest movies of all time.
The first was by far the best, IMHO.
I’m going to have to go with part two as the best. I love the flashbacks showing how young Vito Corleone becomes who he is. Plus there’s Bobby De Niro.
@breedmitch, that is a great point about part two, those scenes are fabulous. I also love the part where Michael walks up, hugs and kisses Fredo and says “You broke my heart.” Oh and the boat scene! “Hail Mary full of grace – BAM!” Oh and Michael in that camel hair overcoat visiting Kay. Ok, I would call it a toss up between one and two.
The first. The death of sonny is one of the best scenes in cinema. My second favorite godfather scene is the death of Fredo in the boat that supermouse mentioned. So the second is good too… dammit I’m gonna have to say toss up also.
