Nine years old and it was a VERY BIG DEAL. We were racing Sputnik. I recall an assembly in the gym with two small black and white TV’s with news of the launch. We went outside on a clear night to try and see the capsule.

I was wondering if my parents were ever going to be born, so that I could be born. Ten years later they were born. Then twenty one years later I was!

I was somewhere out there in the perfect plan to be born someday thank God.
