No. But I would like to spend Christmas sunning on a beach in Hawaii sipping Mai Tais.
No, but I wouldn’t mind hanging out with Chuck.
No. Didn’t people smell and not bathe and etc. back then? If you go back to that time you’ll probably be a leaper or blind or something and Jesus will just be a baby so he won’t be able to miracle work your ass back to health…
No, I think I wanna be hanging out with AstroChuck too!
Party at Chuck’s house!!!
I think you mean now, not time travel, right seVen?
Yes, I would like to go to Bethlehem and see how it feels. I love the whole story of Christmas and I always love being on the spot where things happened that are important to me.
I was blessed to go to theHoly Land last year. We went to Bethleham and worshipped there. Renewed our wedding vows in Cana. Prayed on the beach where Jesus confronted Peter with “do you love me?”
Put our feet in the Jordan river.
“swam” in the Dead sea. Walked the Via Delarosa.
AWESOME TRIP.
Incidentally, I meant no disrespect to seVen with my answer. If I were a Christian I would imagine it would be an incredible experience. I wouldn’t mind going, it just hold have any spiritual meaning to me.
Oh, yeah. Party at my house!
I’d love to go there, but not on Christmas. On Christmas I want to be at my grandparent’s house, eating, talking with my cousins, and giving/getting presents.
Can I join you, Chuck, after Christmas, or am I too old?
Everybody’s invited!
Just try not to break anything.
While I love to travel, that’s pretty much on the bottom of my list.
No. At least in part because my boyfriend would want to come with me. He’s an evangelical atheist. While I have no interest in religion, he’d probably do his best with the others and there are so many more interesting places we could go that wouldn’t involve him getting into trouble.
That would be the absolute most amazing, humbling, sacred experience. I would love to spend Christmas there… Have you done those things?
It is a crowded time of year to go to Israel. I think I’d rather go in January.
I missed Bethlehem when I was in Israel because the day we were supposed to go was when the Palestinians took over the Church of the Nativity in 2001. I guess I’ll just have to go back.
Well, for right now Judi, you could always join us at Chuck’s party!
Hawaii! We’re gonna sip Mai Tais!
You guys are so cute. Really. I want to come to Chuck’s too. Where in Hawaii is this, now?
Right on!!!
Chuck, you’re working on the travel plans, right?
It would be absolutely fascinating to observe the history firsthand, though there’s a possibility Jesus wasn’t born in Bethlehem (at least I remember reading something reputable that suggested that). I’d probably get stoned pretty quick, though. Or maybe I’d get crucified and people would worship me.
I have no gifts to bring…. pa rump pa pa…. blah!
wasnt jesus born in the middle of summer anyway?
Most historians believe that Christ was born in the spring.
I think the asker is probably more concerned with the celebration than the getting the actual calendar date right, correct me if I’m wrong seVen.
Not sure hasn’t it become commercialised like everything else?
Sounds pretty boring to me. I understand that the hotels are too expensive of too dirty and that the whole Bethlehem is just a tourist trap. I guess it would be more interesting, if I believed in Jesus Christ, but I would rather spend Christmas in a place with snow and Santa Claus as god intended.
I wouldn’t mind going there but why on Christmas? It is not the date Jesus was born on.
