Saving full-resolution images with iPhone/iPod Touch?

Asked by robmandu (21331points) December 14th, 2008

So, whether from web site or email attachment, I can’t get the iPod Touch to save the image selected at full/original resolution. It just adds a thumbnail of the photo to the picture roll.

How do I get the iPod Touch to save the image at original resolution?

I can’t figure this out, either. Sometimes it saves the original, sometimes a thumb/low-res.

Half-assed workaround:

1. View the desired image as large and with as little on-screen accoutrement as possible.
2. Press the Sleep/Wake and Home Screen buttons at the same time to take a screenshot of the image (saved to the camera roll).
3. Make the best of it.

Probably the only high-quality, for-sure method would be to add the desired image to a folder on your PC that iTunes automatically copies to your iPhone at sync time.

(sigh)
