Great suggestions (I already had one of them down, but still…)! Please keep them coming (I need a bunch)!
Mattlock
Murder She Wrote
Lawrence Welk
Murder, She Wrote
Walker, Texas Ranger
@Buster: Don’t be knockin’ on the Wheel! I might have to send Chuck Norris after your ass!
Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman
60 Minutes
Real Sex
Besides dragging on about the stereotypical “old folks” television shows why not check out some CSI, Heroes, Desperate Housewives, Boston Legal, or Chuck. From my experiences I’ve found a lot of middleage men and women seem to enjoy these shows. Not many shows are particularly aimed at a middle-age to older audience, but you may find these shows appealing.
How about Something’s Gotta Give? That was an excellent movie, and seemed to deal with the topic of love, later in life.
Shit you all took most of mine… but
Bill O’Reilly
Grumpy Old Men – speaks for its self
Wild Hogs – a bunch of washed up old people actors going through mid-life crisis’
The Bucket List – old people doing shit before they die
that Ya Ya Sisterhood Movie – is strictly for women past menopause
Mama Mia! – because if your not old and you like it your weird
Archie Bunker? – not sure of the name of the actual show but it’s about a racist old guy
Kenny G live concert movies
Yanni as well
Empty Nest
Jake and the Fatman
... i’m spent
Wild Hogs – fits this question exactly.
see above…
Oh and how about how Stella Got Her Groove Back? Isn’t that for old people…
X-Files? for older geeks, lol.
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
TV shows:
House
Rawhide
Band of Brothers
Dr.Quinn Medicine Woman?
Supernatural
The Jamie Kennedy Experiment
Little House on the Prairie
King of Queens
Dukes of Hazzard
North & South
CSI
West Wing
Three’s Company
Two and Half Men
Movies:
Peaceful Warrior
The Five People You Meet in Heaven
Patch Adams
Good Will Hunting
Midnight in the Garden of Eden
Full Metal Jacket
Legends of the Fall
Tears of the Sun
Pride & Prejudice
Just a few suggestions… I could go on for a while.
*Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil *
What the crap was I thinking?
@ dlm ok I just have to say that King of Queens and Two and a Half Men are not for old people. I love those shows!
@ Madcapper: I wasn’t necessarily implying that all of my suggestons are “elder viewers only” – just that they might be something an older person might enjoy. I am myself, 20, and all of those ideas listed are shows/movies that I enjoy, but also ones that my parents, 58, enjoy as well. I mean let’s face it – who doesn’t find Two and a Half Men enjoyable?? ;)
@ dlm – Denise Richards, probably.
@Dave – Really? What about the show do you not like? I know that everyone has his or her own opinion and tastes, but I honestly do not know one person in my life who doesn’t enjoy that show at least on occasion. Just interested in hearing your opinion :)
@dlm aight I will accept that haha
It recently ended, but Boston Legal
@dlm812: personally I find it unfunny, pedestrian, and overwhelmingly mediocre.
Admittedly, my personal preference in comedy is for the absurd and hyper-creative, stuff most people don’t find funny at all.
I love me some CSI and Law and Order…and 2.5 men
I’m 41 but don’t know if I’m the target audience.
Murder She Wrote..you’ve got to be at least 60.
Anything with Paul Newman is certainly going to be attractive to an older crowd…unfortunately he got too old.
Las Vegas. good show. every weekday morning on cable around 11 am.
The movie FOLKS. really funny…...“McDonalds”.
