I live in an apartment, looking for renter’s insurance but am having a hard time finding a website which provides insurance reviews/ratings/rankings. For those with renter’s insurance, what are your experiences?

If you talk to your car insurance agent he can usually give you the best deal because you give him the business for both.
I’ve been in love with Liberty Mutual. They have really taken care of me.
I pay about $15 per month with Farmers
Thanks, everyone. Follow up question: has anyone gotten the optional earthquake rider? I live in the Pacific NW. Thanks.
I agree with Judi, talk to whomever you have your auto coverage with. The earthquake coverage is an endorsement that you have to specifically ask for. If that is the only thing your interested in purchasing, you may be able to purchase it as a policy all in its own. Again, talk to your insurance agent.
Agreed with Judi, multiple policy discounts are huge. If your current auto insurance company does not offer renters insurance or does not give you a multiple policy discount, change to a company that can do both for you.

check out for quotes online and it would be easier for you to choose the best one for you. Asking quotes online is free from insurers.
I agree with @jhonmatt . You need to get quotes. Rates vary considerably between States. Also, rates tend to depend on your individual circumstances in your specific residence. What may be an awesome rate for the guy down the block may give a totally different rate for you. He may get a lower rate because he was within a certain range of a Fire Station and you fall outside the range. Or perhaps you live on a fault line. Or your complex has a higher case of theft. But a different insurance company may have a special deal for people who are in your region but not in the other guy’s.
If the guy down the block can’t give you the best advice, people online would be even worse. Get a quote online or over the phone. Insurance companies have actuarial teams who do nothing all day except calculate rates for people based on huge amounts of variables in data tables. Until you get a quote, you really can’t be sure what you’re going to get.
