Where can I get a poem published?

I think this one is actually pretty good, and I feel like submitting it. Is there some sort of amateur journal or something? I feel like I have to get this poem out there, wherever “there” is. And I don’t wanna put it on my blog because it’s really out of place.

Are you looking to publish it through a contest, or just publish it for the sake of publishing?
I wrote a decent poem once, and wanted to publish it somewhere. I was an editor for the school newspaper. So, I created a new section for the paper; the Arts Page. Found a few other poets who submitted, solicited the art teachers for good artwork, and Bam. Something like this might not be beyond your capabilities.
@hypeserver: thanks. Its up
@omfgtali…: just to get it out
@petethepothead: I’m part of the student paper, and I know the Arts editor well, but I would want to be linked to it, but not in a way where my friends will come up to me and comment randomly. I want it to be out there, but not in a place where immature scmucks who dont care will look.
Glad you chose DeviantArt I use it quite frequently for all my artwork (poetry, stories, photos, sketches, graphic design, etc.). Would you care to link to the poem for us? I would enjoy reading it.
@zack, Both of the above are great suggestions. Can you put it anonymously in the school paper?
I edited my response with the link
@omfgtalijustmdu: I can, but I want to be related to it. However, I dont want people to automatically assume assume its me, because that’s kinda different from my personality.
In that case it seems like DevianArt was a great choice!
I enjoyed reading that. I have a few of my own poems on DeviantArt. They’re some of my older works though.
When I was in high school I hated my AP English teacher, she just drove me nuts. We had a poetry section and I would write pointless poems just to aggravate her. Well she ended up sending a couple of my poems in for publication in a small magazine called “Not Quite Shakespeareā€¯ and they were published.
Here is one of my poems
Nightmares
What are nightmares?
Lime Jell-o with carrots
Richard Simmons
Dogs with foamy mouths
Unibrows
Neck hair
Hotdogs with sauerkraut
Those are nightmares!
I really don’t know what she was thinking! Or maybe she was just getting back at me All in all it was good for a laugh.
Nice poem Zack. You might want to make one teeny edit, though. In the line “I can see you’re mood, your thoughts, your morals” that first ‘you’re’ should be ‘your’. Keep on writing : )
I thought you had asked, where can I get a porn published? Whew, I need some sleep!
