Read article advising parents to limit cell phone use in children and teens because of concern. Are you careful?

I think it’s BS. I want some scientific evidence that it DOES cause brain tumors, not just speculation.

It’s never been proven that cell phones cause brain tumors, but cellphones do give off a very small amount of radiation due to the cellular waves. The amount of radiation one receives is so minute that it would take years of constantly talking on the cellphone to get even a minor tumor. Of course I’m no doctor, but the lack of scientific evidence does come to mind when this question is brought up.

Here’s what science has to say:

Conclusions These data do not support the hypothesis that the recent use of hand-held cellular telephones causes brain tumors, but they are not sufficient to evaluate the risks among long-term, heavy users and for potentially long induction periods.

Conclusions Our data suggest that use of handheld cellular telephones is not associated with risk of brain cancer, but further studies are needed to account for longer induction periods, especially for slow-growing tumors with neuronal features.

Conclusions: The results of this investigation, the first nationwide cancer incidence study of cellular phone users, do not support the hypothesis of an association between use of these telephones and tumors of the brain or salivary gland, leukemia, or other cancers.

So…...no.

Bob signed up the same day as this question was posted, submitted one answer, and has not been seen since. Oh and the site “bob” links to, the mercola link, automatically opens up a popup the instant you click the link.

@hyperserver- what does all that mean?

Methinks it be spam!

Wow, what do i see here? Fluther moderators removed my content.. and Hypeserver with Augustlan being naughty.. I don’t understand why you guys think this is spam.. Grow up will ya.. What’s wrong with posting an answer on the same day i signed up? Am i missing something here?

Nothing wrong with answering or asking questions…however that can’t be self-promotional, which yours appeared to be.

Self promotional? Then why not just remove that part only and leave the rest? Mercola’s site is the most trusted source on the net and I have no affiliates with him. I just think it’s wrong to quote something without referring to any sources. Every answer I believe should be supported by trusted sources unless and otherwise the question seeks our personal opinion. Hypserver thinks “there’s no evidence” but how does he/she know that? I was pretty excited to find a site like Fluther and signed up right away but someone flagged my answer and removed the whole content.. May be one of you got jealous because i got the points for the answer? It’s sad to see how you guys being so childish.
