It’s a conspiracy!

Usually the dough is cut with a donut cutter, thus the dough comprising the holed area is simply mixed back in with the other dough and becomes a full donut.

Here in Canada our national and awesome coffee chain Tim Hortons offers Timbits, which pretty much are only the donut middles, though they’re not truly the middles but are formed from dough into the round shape. They’re the perfect size for snacking!

Don’t be jealous, tinyvamp, we’re due to get two snowstorms before the end of the weekend, 10–20 centimeters of snow each, which means things will be INSANELY dangerous and quite nasty – but fun for tobogganing and perfect for huddling inside of the closest Timmies while snacking down on some delicious timbits! My favorite are the jam-filled powdered sugar-coated ones. Just like a big jelly sugar donut, except much much smaller.

The “hole” in the “donut” represents the illusion of your free will.

Well, according to Scott Adams at least.

[ Sorry, but that was a tough article to dredge up… and you’ll need to scroll down manually to the entry entitled My Donut Theory of the Universe. ]

What are you? 12? Shouldn’t you be in school right now?

I had a great professor who always told us “keep your eye on the donut not the hole”. I’ve tried to heed his advice.

I read the Q originally as “What happens in the middle of a donut” I didn’t want to go there but I had brothers growing up and I know that almost anything can happen in the middle of a donut.

It’s kind of like a zen koan to me. I just ponder it every once in a while like this and move on. (Usually by eating the question!)

Oh, man. I really want some Dunkin Donuts chocolate munchkins right about now.
