Do you ever randomly start to smell things?

Ok, so I find this happens at work and at home. I’m sitting there alone and all the sudden I smell something… it usually is kind of stinky. Sometimes it just smells like food but I have no idea why I’m smelling it. Please tell me I’m not crazy.

I have something similar happen. I tend to experience the world through my nose more that others do – I constantly get comments on how often I mention smells. But I also randomly smell what almost seem like “stray” odors. I can’t locate a source and I can’t duplicate it. I’ve always just assumed that I’m having some sort of short acting random firing of nose nerves (if you’ll pardon the term).
ok, um, well, my wife does every once in a while. things like farts, fireplace smoke, natural gas, beer, socks, etc.
but the funny thing is no one else smells it.
All the time: at home, work, in the car, everywhere. My wife says I have a bionic nose.
Only when I feed the dog some beans.
I have a random sniffer. Most times it does not favor me.
I have a nose for news! I’m like a blood hound. I can smell & hear things way before my husband can.
Ooh this drives me crazy – I get the stinky smell too, but I cannot rest until I locate the source. This once had me crawling around piles of clothes and junk in a dorm room until way in the corner under a bed I found a shoe with some dog poop on it. I hate dog poop.
Sometimes ghosts have a bad smell to them. Just puttin’ it out there!!!
My best friend is just like that! She can smell something that everyone else insists is not there. Especially any musty or mildew-y smell.
Oooo! She just might be “gifted”...
Actually loser could be right. I’ve heard that spriits of family members, friends, etc. comes for a ‘visit’ and you will suddenly notice a familiar smell like grandma’s perfume or a familiar cooking smell. There’s never been any scientific proof (not that I know of) but people swear by it and it’s a common occurance. I used to watch way too much Sylvia Brown on the Montell Williams show, LOL
Mildew, natural gas, dead mice, rotting fish in the trash, perfume, [singing] these are a few of my unfavorite things.
Yeah, I tend to smell them first. I think having a good nose goes along with having a good sense of taste and being a good cook.
Yes! But my SO’s sense of smell is awful. Drives me up the wall.
Who knew I needed so much olfactory validation?
[shakes them by the collar] How can you NOT smell that?! Agh!
Speaking of smells, anyone use Fabreeze? That stuff is just as creepy as a smell you can’t locate. What does it stand for? Fake Breeze? What the hell is that?
Sometimes, I randomly smell blood.
