I know they get allergies
Dunno. My dog sneezes whenever I kick it though.
I know that cats can get URIs (upper respiratory infections). Cold viruses are pretty enterprising critters, so I’d be surprised if they hadn’t figured out a way to invade the entire canine population.
Basically any organ or bodily function can get something wrong with it, and colds are one of the ways.
Yes, dogs can get colds. However, they aren’t the same colds that people get. Most dog colds can actually be attributed to a variety of respiratory infections caused by canine-specific viruses and bacteria. These include the parainfluenza virus, advenovirus type-2 (a form of kennel cough), Bordetella bronchiseptica bacteria (another form of kennel cough), and canine distemper. There are vaccines that either temper or reduce the risk of your dog suffering from these.
Just as in people, try to keep your dog warm and dry, keep him inside as much as you can in cold weather, make sure he is eating and drinking adequately, and run a vaporizer near where he sleeps to help him breathe better. Dogs can take certain children’s cold medicines – check with your vet to find out which ones and what dose to give. These will help your dog feel better.
Especially if your dog is very young or very old you should take him to the vet in case this is the start of something more serious that might overcome their weaker immune systems.
Certain cold viruses can also transfer between people and their pets.
That’s so odd that you said that b/c now i feel sick!
I don’t know all the medical stuff, but it may be possible that she has allergies.
