On February 17, 2009 all full-power broadcast television stations in the United States will stop broadcasting on analog airwaves and begin broadcasting only in digital. Digital broadcasting will allow stations to offer improved picture and sound quality and additional channels. Find out more about whether or not you will be impacted by the digital TV

basically if you’re not with a cable provider and you are using just an antennae you may need a converter box for your televsion, but it depends because your tv may already have a digital tuner or hd tuner, etc.
Aw, that thing…we had this happening in Sweden last year and for some it resulted in loads of trouble. Hope the transmission goes well for you.
I don’t have any wisdom to add beyond what tinyvamp said, but I lurved this. ‘you know what I mean. the thingy’
Susan, in February, you are afforded an opportunity to stop watching television by doing nothing. That’s what I would do, except the gf can’t live without her dish.
If you have satellite, then you don’t need to do anything. You’ll still get TV as if nothing has changed.
switch it off and read a book or go to a concert with someone, tv is gross i think to use an Americanism (I;m scottish lol)
