Does the new AIM ability send you an IM when you have new activity?

Asked by MrItty (17411points) December 20th, 2008 from IM

Will flutherbot IM me when one of my questions or answers has new activity? What about when Fluther thinks it found a question I'd be interested in? Or is it just an interface for me to ask questions without actually going to fluther.com ?

Yup, it’s on the cards. Flutherbot will soon be alerting you about new activity for you in addition to making recommendations.

There will also be better controls to customise how often and when Flutherbot alerts you with these things. Hope you’re enjoying IM!

I’m loving flutherbot.

Though it must be a lot of work for poor Ben to sit on aim 24/7 sending people questions they might be interrested in.

Richardhenry is actually wrong. The Flutherbot alerts you already when you have new activity and when you have q’s for you.

Oh I suck, I thought it wasn’t out yet. :)

Errm, I only get new activity if a question of mine is answered, not any of those I’m following.

Am I doing something wrong?

@TaoSan: That’s correct. We try not to overwhelm people. We’ll be pushing some more refined throttling features in the near future.

Ah! Okay. Was wondering if I had “disgruntled” the bot ;)

Awesome as is already though, great work!!!!!!
