I am partial to Away in the Manger. I don’t like Santa claus songs.

O Holy Night, followed by Merry Xmas (War Is Over).
I love O Holy Night as well. Not familiar with your other favorite.
Edit: Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
@cdwccm- This is it.
@astro: thanks for the link. I’ve heard that song- it is beautiful and rich with meaning. The video was beautiful as well.
@earnbos: carol of the bells
makes my favs list, too.
Hi Judi. A woman who likes traditional carols:)
!CD, I was in Children’s Choir and this was an Advent staple. I always knew Christmas was near when we started rehearsing it.
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and River.
I like my Christmas songs melencholly.
I too dislike Santa songs
O Holy Night…‘fall on your kneeeeees’ gives me chills.
polish or english?
from my polish carols I like ” Lulaj że Jezuniu” which translates to Sleep heavanly little baby Jesus ,...and also I like “Pójdzmy wszyscy do stajenki” which translates to let’s all go to the manger.
For English carols I like “Silent Night” which I think is an international carol because in Poland it was also sang/sung under same meaning but written as “Cicha Noc” and when I lived in Italy they had that carol too in Italian .
I love how Mannheim Steamroller redoes classic carols; they’re both classic and beautiful. Some of my favorites are Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella, I Saw Three Ships, God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen, The First Noel, Angels We Have Heard On High, and Coventry Carol.
O Holy Night
Silent Night
Not many. Not many at all. And finally someone who isn’t really a fan of santa songs (most of them). I don’t like many christmas songs except for a select few. My favorites are definitely the more religious ones because the people who made those actually had talent. I can make up any song about santa I want and there I’m in themusic buisiness. They are stupid! O Holy Night, Silent Night, O come all ye faithful that one is near the top of the charts for me hark the herald angels sing, beautiful, creative, with breathtaking lyrics. FALL ON YOUR KNEEEEEEES OH HEAR THE ANGELS VOICESSS.____vs.____Here comes santy claus! here comes santy claus! Down lil’ santy claus lane <3<3 ;D ~v~!!
Come on. You know the winner.
@90s_kid: you like to be contrary, don’t you?
Either that or you don’t like a lot of things…
I always look for the bad side of everything. I am a pessimist who hates my own life. That’s just me. :(
And too much of a critic
For God’s sake I only have 218 lurve!
Awwww so much negativity! If I lurve you more, can you be happier and optimistic…er?
O Holy Night. It was my first solo in choir. Since cancer, my singing voice has changed, but I still try! (not in public) It’s beautiful, one of my favorites and a favorite of my children, too.
Silent Night, followed closely by The Little Drummer Boy.
Titsmcgee I have been on Fluther for 2 months and onlt have 259 lurve. And A pessimist is what I am. My motto is “There’s a bad side to everything, except heaven!”
@90s_kid: So if the atheists and agnostics (such as myself) turn out to be right, you’re pretty much screwed. Cheer up man. Enjoy a nice Christmas song.
My life sucks though, keep that in mind.
@kid; most people’s lives suck @ 14. It does get better.
Hopefully. But I want to remain single. I don’t want to marry.
Life gets better even if your single, some may say ESPECIALLY if your single
Has anyone heard that new song from this big group of australian people? Toto? I don’t know but i think they’re new. :S can’teven find a link. I’m just wondering. It annoys me that song.
hopefully, I see my aunt she is single and has a better life than my parents. I want to be free
90s_kid: You are 14 and in the music business huh. Except for ripping songs off the net and shoplifting, what part of the business? Judi is (as usual) too kind and Eambos has the right idea, sign off.
I’m in the music business? when did I say that? I’m only 14! But I LOVE 90’s music. Only thing that makes me happy.
Mary, Did You Know by Mark Lowry
Joseph’s Song by Michael Card (wow!)
Santa, Baby sung by Eartha Kitt
Oh yeah I also like polish carol called ” Bóg się rodzi ” which when translated into english it means God is born.
@ tits mggee
i don’t care about lurve
@90s_kid: hey, i’m just trying to get along here…you’re not making it really easy.
but hey, let’s get back to the topic at hand. Christmas carols, anyone?
yeah I know sorry. Its all cool :)
No particular versions, but these songs are my favourites:
– The Angel Gabriel
– O Holy Night
– Carol of the Bells
@Judi – The links to your brother’s songs just brought me to the top page of SoundClick – do I have to be a member to hear it?
Darn! Look up Austin stage Line from the sound click website. He has a few really good Christmas songs. Lone Star Christmas won the Ft Worth Song Writers Association Song of the tear a few years ago.
I think this may take you to Joseph of Nazareth
and Lone Star Christmas
@Judi – That’s better!
Those are great songs. I love when he hits those deeper notes. Congrats to him for winning that award!
I wondered if that one would wander into this!
