Embroidery sites?

Asked by Comedian (1133points) December 22nd, 2008

I’ve been looking around, but I can’t find any good embroidery sights. I want to make a heart.

Are you looking for a website that would let you make your own embroidered items?

What exactly are you asking?

What kind of embroidery are you interested in? Hand, machine? Cross stitch, crewel, free embroidery, drawn thread? There are a number of websites out there, but what they offer will vary widely, so having a better idea of what you’re interested in might narrow it down a bit. Also, if you’re just looking for a heart, it might be easier to find what you need in a specialty magazine or craft store. A simple heart design likely wouldn’t cost more than a couple of bucks.

Handmade, Cross stitch

@Perchik: This is my first time embroidering and i’m not sure how to make rounded patterns like that

I will have in a moment

How do I do have a stitch though?

amanderveen's avatar

Not sure I understood the question – are you asking about half stitches?

Comedian's avatar

Like it’s a heart right, so it has to be rounded (like go diagonally), so how do I do that.

Not a problem. I hope you enjoy the cross stitch – I find it quite relaxing, myself. :o)

It is. It hurts my pinkie finger though. Oh, and welcome to fluther!

Thank you!

<ponders what you’re doing to your poor pinkie….>

it hurts to hold the thread and stuff

Ahh, well with practice you might find a more comfortable way to hold it – or you might just toughen up your pinkie over time. :o)
