I’m probably the 4000th person to post a variation of this question but I’m new so cut me some slack.

This is a no brainer…The Simpsons. Family guy is awful, and South Park, while funny, is funny as much for its use of off-color humor (from kids) as its satire.
The Simpsons definitely, if nothing else just for it’s longevity and for the fact its a great pop culture time line.
@shi: The Simpsons were good. Now, it’s shit.
Family Guy, ftw. I can’t stand South Park.
You’re gonna get a whole plethora of opinions, there will be no consensus here.
I guess, but I find Family Guy to be derivative, and, frankly, unfunny to the extreme. I’d almost rather watch American Idol, almost…
Well, there goes shilolo’s taste down the tubes.
Family Guy, by far.
South Park – Family Guy – The Simpsons all great
The Simpsons is the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program, and the longest-running American primetime television series. It was instrumental in the growth of Fox into a major network. In fifty years, will anyone even remember South Park or the The Family Guy?
@jason: I will. Maybe you shoulda gone with 100. :D
@asmonet. I disagree. In 50 years you’ll be dead from the long term sequelae of Fluther addiction.
Lies! In another thread it was established I’ll be living to the ripe old age of 102. Suck on that.
I hope I don’t die at 72. That’d be depressing.
Let’s make a bet then. If you win (i.e. live to 102), send me a PM and you can collect your winnings from me personally.
I demand one hazmat suit if I win. Name your terms, sir.
@Andrew. Just because you have an inferiority complex as part of generation Y (already a derivative of the great Generation X), doesn’t mean Family Guy trumps The Simpsons. Of course, it is tough for you to remember the Simpsons, since you were in diapers when it came out.
@asmonet. Don’t worry. We Gen Xers still love Generation Y. After all, somebody has to do something productive and not be such slackers…
That’s true, I hope you enjoy the retirement home I’ll earn you. And I hope you enjoy not working hard and paying for everyone else’s before you. jerk.
:)
