Do you use the Phillips Bodygroom?

Asked by derekpcollins (281points) December 27th, 2008

My wife bought me a Phillips Bodygroom for Christmas. I was really excited about it so I charged it for the full 8 hours (as suggested) and then jumped in the shower. I normally use a straight razor anywhere that I want to remove hair and I’m naturally not very hairy to begin with, so, for example, my chest hair was already fairly short (~ 1/8”), but it took me nearly an hour to shave my stomach and chest and it still didn’t get all the hair! Needless to say I was pretty disappointed. I’m going to give it another shot, but I’m starting to think I might be returning it. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this product?

Nothing beats a mac3.
Done.

No. I prefer a Feather artist club but I only shave with pants and shoes on, never in the shower.

I use a Fusion*; works great. Without the battery though. The vibration thing didn’t do anything and made it sound like I was playing with some sort of ‘toy’ in the shower.

*I shave, let it grow a little, and then just re-shave. No trimming for me. If you use a scrub exfoliator it stops it being prickly.

toy in the shower, that is just too funny.

Well, I gave it another shot, this time out of the shower and dry and it seemed to work much better. I’m not sure if it was because my chest hair was shorter or because I used it dry (the directions actually suggest using it wet for shaving and dry for trimming). I’m still not sold, but I’ll continue to use it a little longer.
