Me and a couple friends are planning to go on a road trip during spring break. We will have around a week to do whatever. We live in Illinois. Have any ideas of places to go that aren’t too far? (nothing like California)

I’m partial to the Wisconsin Dells and Bemidji MN, where Babe from the movie Fargo is located. But perhaps that’s still too cold during spring break?
Oak Grove (visit Frank Lloyd Wright home & studio, it’s amazing).
Minneapolis
Canada?
I’m partial to northern Wisconsin or the UP of Michigan myself. Hiking in the Porcupine Mnts. is awesome. Yet, like AlfredaPrufrock says…maybe too cold.
Gatlinburg, TN is nice, a bit warmer too. You could make it down to the gulf coast too if you are looking for warmer weather.
Gulf Shores AL would be about at 16 hour drive.
We think alike Alfreda… nice!
@jonsblond, I have this thing for oversized fiberglass animals, and roadside tourist attractions. Did you know that in Bemidji MN, there is the headwaters of the Mississippi River? You can stand with one foot on either side of the Mississippi. I have no idea why I think that’s cool. :-)
Route 66 I heard is nice for a road trip.
Get on the road and start driving, and just stop anyplace that grabs your attention.
Frank Lloyd Wright’s studio is in Oak Park, not Oak Grove. That’s where I from. It’s cool.
Go WEST!
All the natural beauty along the way will blow… you away. Colorado, Wyoming (yellowstone and grand teton), also sun valley Idaho ive heard is amazing.
Just go to Arkansas. Hang out in the Ozarks for a week and party. Great people, great ‘produce’. Relaxxxx.
